PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS
A Message From Attracta Lyndon,
IBO President, 2006
A Cara,
Doesn’t it seem that the older you get the quicker the summers go by! I hope you are all having a great summer and enjoying outdoor and vacation time with family and friends. The summer has given the IBO Executive Committee a chance to catch our breath, focus on our businesses and, most importantly, spend time with our families. We haven’t, however, forgotten the needs of the IBO and members.
September 13th our General Monthly Meeting will be held at the Midtown Executive Club, NYC. We will soon announce our guest speaker for this meeting. At this time I’d like to ask our members to please make every effort to attend the IBO Monthly Meetings. A great deal of work and effort goes into planning these meetings and developing the speaker program. We need to provide our speakers with a strong audience if we are to bring you the guest speakers and topics you want. Remember, this is YOUR organization and we need your input and experience to continue its growth.
Also, as nominations and elections approach again, please remember that to be nominated, to nominate, and/or to vote in the elections you must be a member in good standing with three documented IBO sponsored functions and paid membership by March 2006, so there is still some time available to you to get those meetings in.
On September 28th the NJ Networking Group of the Irish Business Organization of NY will hold a golf outing at Twin Brooks, NJ. If you were unable to attend the IBO’s annual golf outing earlier this year at the Irish Links or you haven’t had your fill of golf yet we look forward to seeing you at Twin Brooks.
As many of you know we chose to move our Annual Gala Ball to March 9th, 2007 and we have provisionally booked the New York Showband. In the meantime we plan on hosting a different type of 2006 fall event geared towards our members and their family and friends, so stay tuned for further details. If you are interested in helping us out by volunteering for the fall event please give Clare a call.
